What is it?
Somatic guidance is a form of talk therapy that focuses on the mind-body connection.
What can it help with?
This work utilizes a holistic approach in addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, dissociation, trauma, PTSD, and chronic pain. Somatic guidance is focused on you as a client and your specific and unique needs.
How does a session work?
Sessions incorporate both talk therapy and movement. I often bring in relaxation exercises, breath work, meditation, yogic philosophy, light touch, shamanic healing, and mental scripts.
What’s your background?
I have been working as a healing arts professional since 1996 and am a licensed Yoga Therapist. I am currently in a Somatic Psychology Master’s program at the California Institute of Integrative Studies. My studies are focused on psychodynamics, neuropsychology, and somatic psychology.
What’s your approach to healing?
My approach is inclusive, collaborative, and supportive. I want to help you develop as many tools as possible in your healing journey. If you are working with a significant situation or trauma, are on medication, or you are struggling and feeling stuck with a specific diagnosis, I can help you explore a broader perspective and consider possibilities beyond a binary system. I believe mind-body integration is not only driven by the mind (“top down”) but also by the body (“bottom up”). Every client is making an informed choice to experience organizing and integration through this powerful work.
